Sock Drive to Benefit Homeless Families

Socks. They are a basic element of everyone’s wardrobe, but for hundreds of Santa Fe families, a warm pair of socks is a luxury. We want to help. Art.i.fact is holding a sock drive to benefit Casa Familia Urgent Transition Center, St. Elizabeth Shelter’s House for Families and Women. The Center is northern New Mexico’s only full-time shelter for families and single women. They receive regular donations of clothing (including those from Art.i.fact), but good socks are in short supply. That’s why we’re committed to collecting 500 pairs of socks for this most deserving organization and the people they serve. Bring your new or gently-warn (and clean!) pairs of wool or wool-blend socks to Art.i.fact now through January 31 and receive 10% off any single item in the store (excluding artwork). Art.i.fact is located at 930 Baca Street, Suite C, two doors down from Counter Culture. “Many families come to us with the clothes on their backs and very little else,” says Kehala Two Bulls, program manager at Casa Familia. “Adults and their pre-school age children spend every weekday outside, travelling to social service agencies, job interviews, and libraries and other community centers. Since most of our guests either walk and/or take buses, warm socks make an enormous difference!”
